Beaches

Porthluney Cove is our closest beach, a large sandy beach that backs on to the grounds of Caerhays Castle & Gardens. It has a large pay & display car park with shop, café & toilets, level and all close to the beach. During the summer they organise live music in the evenings with an outside bar and BBQ hut – highly recommend!! Dogs are allowed all year round. There are no lifeguards. 1.2 miles away (22 minute walk)

Hemmick Beach is a sandy beach without any facilities. There is a small National Trust car park at the top of the hill, a 15 minute walk away. Dogs are allowed all year round. There are no lifeguards. 1.6 miles away (31 minute walk)

Gorran Haven Beach an east facing sheltered sandy beach with a small harbour is the most popular of all four beaches. There is a large pay & display car park 400m away. Facilities include beach shops, general store & bakery, cafés, Fish ‘n’ Chips and toilets. No lifeguard service. Dogs are allowed all year round but must be on leads from Easter to 30th September. A short walk across Gorran Haven Beach when the tide is low, hidden behind the rocks is Little Perhaver Beach. The small sandy beach is also accessible from the village via steep steps. There are no lifeguards. Dogs are allowed all year round. 2 miles away (41 minute walk)

Vault Beach is a wide shingle beach. There are no facilities, and the parking is a distance from the beach up a steep hill. Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round. There are no lifeguards. 2.8 miles away (58 minute walk)
